Refund and Cancellation Policy
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Tame Academy
Last Updated: 18 October 2026
1. Introduction
At Tame Academy, we aim to provide customers with clear information about purchases, cancellations, returns, and refunds.
We understand that circumstances may arise in which a customer needs to cancel an order, return a physical product, or request a refund for a digital product, training program, or professional service.
This Policy explains the conditions, procedures, and proposed timelines applicable to such requests.
We aim to review reasonable complaints fairly and provide appropriate remedies in accordance with applicable laws and the agreed terms of service.
2. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to products and services offered through Tame Academy, including:
Printed books and other physical publications;
eBooks and browser-based digital books;
Audiobooks, video books, and digital summaries;
Online and in-person training programs;
Workshops, seminars, and educational events;
HR, company secretarial, corporate, and other professional advisory services.
Additional lawful terms may apply to specific products or services where clearly disclosed before purchase.
3. Cancellation of Printed Book Orders
Customers may request cancellation of a printed book order before it has been handed over to the courier or delivery provider.
If the order has not yet been dispatched when the cancellation request is accepted, the order may be cancelled and the payment refunded in accordance with applicable terms.
Once the order has been dispatched, the return provisions of this Policy will generally apply.
4. Returns and Exchanges of Printed Books
Customers may request a return or exchange where:
An incorrect book has been delivered.
The book contains missing pages, significant printing defects, or binding defects.
The book arrives materially damaged.
The quantity or edition delivered differs from the order.
Customers are requested to report such issues within 7 days of delivery.
Where possible, the request should include the order number, a description of the issue, and relevant photographs.
After verification, Tame Academy may provide a replacement, the correct product, or a refund, as appropriate.
Where the issue results from our error or the fulfillment process, reasonable return shipping costs will not be imposed on the customer.
5. Change-of-Mind Returns
Returns or exchanges of correctly supplied, non-defective printed books will generally not be accepted solely because a customer has changed their mind, unless a separate change-of-mind return option was offered at purchase.
This provision does not restrict any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable law.
6. Refunds for eBooks and Digital Content
eBooks and related digital content may become accessible through the customer's account after successful purchase.
Once authorized access has been successfully provided and the digital content is usable, change-of-mind refunds will generally not be available.
However, refund requests will be considered where:
Payment is successful but access to the purchased digital content is not provided;
A duplicate payment is charged for the same purchase;
Incorrect digital content is supplied;
A material technical defect prevents access and cannot be resolved after reasonable troubleshooting;
The product materially differs from its description or was materially misrepresented;
A refund is required by applicable law.
We may first attempt to restore access, resolve a technical issue, or supply the correct content, provided this does not delay or restrict any mandatory legal remedy.
7. Audiobooks, Video Books, and Digital Summaries
Some eBooks may include audiobooks, video books, or book summaries as additional features.
The availability and conditions of these features will be stated in the relevant product description.
Where an advertised component cannot be provided, we will review the circumstances and offer an appropriate remedy.
Whether a defect in one component warrants a full or partial refund will depend on its significance, the availability of a remedy, the agreed purchase terms, and applicable law.
8. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
Customers may request a refund or transaction adjustment if:
The same order is charged more than once; or
Payment is deducted but the corresponding order is not successfully created.
Customers should provide the order number, transaction reference, payment date, and amount.
Once an excess or incorrect charge has been verified, an appropriate refund or correction will be arranged.
9. Training, Workshops, and Seminars
Cancellation by Participants
Where a participant requests cancellation at least 7 days before the scheduled start of a training program or workshop, a refund may be considered after deduction of any lawful, previously disclosed, non-refundable costs.
For requests received less than 7 days before the program begins, refunds may be limited. Where available, transfer to another batch or rescheduling may be considered.
Once a program has started, refunds for personal non-attendance will generally not be available unless otherwise required by law or agreed in the applicable terms.
Cancellation by Tame Academy
If Tame Academy cancels a scheduled program, participants will be offered an alternative date or a refund of the amount paid for the affected service.
Where a rescheduled date is unsuitable, a reasonable refund request will be considered.
10. Professional Advisory Services
Refunds for HR, company secretarial, corporate, and other advisory services depend on the scope of work, progress made, and the applicable service agreement.
If a service is cancelled before work begins, any refund may take account of work already completed and lawful, previously agreed expenses.
Where work has been partially completed, the value of completed services and the remaining undelivered work will be considered.
If Tame Academy is unable to provide an agreed service for reasons attributable to us, an appropriate refund or alternative remedy will be provided in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.
11. Bundles and Combined Packages
Some packages may combine printed books, eBooks, training programs, or multiple services.
Partial cancellations or refunds for bundles will be assessed with reference to:
The value of individual components;
Benefits already supplied or used;
Disclosed package terms;
Applicable legal requirements.
Where returning one component affects a bundle discount or package price, any proposed adjustment will be clearly explained to the customer.
12. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
Customers should submit refund, return, or cancellation requests through the Contact Us section of the Tame Academy website.
Where possible, requests should include:
Customer name;
Order number;
Registered email address or mobile number;
Product or service name;
Payment date and transaction reference;
Reason for the request;
Relevant photographs or supporting evidence.
Additional information may be requested where necessary to verify the claim.
13. Refund Processing Time and Method
We aim to process approved refund requests within 7–10 business days.
The time required for the refunded amount to appear in the customer's account may depend on the relevant bank, card issuer, or payment service provider.
Where possible, refunds will be issued through the original payment method. A secure and lawful alternative may be used where necessary.
If applicable law requires a shorter processing period, that mandatory period will prevail.
14. Digital Access Following a Refund
When a full refund is issued for an eBook or other digital content, access rights arising from the refunded purchase may be revoked.
However, access obtained through another valid purchase, subscription, or independent entitlement will remain unaffected.
Partial refunds or bundle adjustments may result in corresponding changes to access rights under the applicable terms.
15. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
We aim to review customer complaints and seek a reasonable resolution within an appropriate period.
Where a refund or cancellation request is declined, we will endeavor to explain the reason.
Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes mandatory consumer rights or remedies available under applicable laws of Bangladesh.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our services, operational requirements, or applicable law.
The revised Policy will be published on our website.
For an existing purchase, the lawful terms applicable at the time of purchase will generally govern, unless a later change applies under the law.
